SUPERVISOR, NEUROPHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY [Saudi Arabia]


 

Supervises the technical and administrative functions of the Neurophysiology Laboratory.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1.Supervises the staff of the section, assigns work schedules, and evaluates employee performance. Takes any required action to improve performance.

2.Reviews applications of employment candidates. Makes hiring and promotion recommendations.

3.Assures that employees are properly trained. Develops, coordinates, and oversees in-service training of staff technologists. Participates in providing orientation for new employees.

4.Ensures that proper materials and supplies are available.

5.Evaluates the need for new equipment. Contributes in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new equipment. Confirms that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.

6.Certifies that prescribed safety, infection control, and quality guidelines and processes are observed.

7.Develops, implements, and modifies the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the quality management programs, quality improvement programs, and laboratory.

8.Assists with long term planning.

9.Ensures that adequate clinical and administrative records are reserved.

10.Acts as a liaison between the medical and technical staff of the laboratory. Liaises with other Hospital personnel.

11.Performs Neurophysiology testing when necessary. Assists physicians with interpretation of procedures.

12.Participates in self and others’ education, training, and development.

13.Follows all Hospital policies and procedures.

14.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Clinical Neurophysiology or successful completion of a formal wo-year program in Clinical Neurophysiology or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required

  • Grade 10:

Four (4) years of related experience with Master’s, including two (2) years in a supervisory/senior position or six (6) years with Bachelor’s Degree, or eight (8) years with Associate Degree/Diploma or program is required.

  • Grade 11:
  • Four (4) years as Supervisor, Neurophysiology Laboratory at KFSH&RC.
  • Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
  • One hundred (100) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements(Certificates)

  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Board registration in EEG/Electro diagnostics or equivalent is required.
  • Certification through examination from an accredited Electroneuro diagnostic Program.
