Requirements:
- Be in possession of a Legal degree (B Juris, B Proc, LLB) and an Admitted Attorney.
- 10 years of experience in the legal field of which 5 years should be in a managerial role.
- 5 years of experience in Contract law, Environmental and conservation Law, Property law and conveyancing process, Planning law, Administrative law-related experience (PAIA and PAJA), and Interpretation of statutes.

Responsibilities:
- To provide constitutional; property, environmental, conservation, cultural heritage; and administrative law services.
- To inform and influence policy formulation and long-term planning on environmental and conservation-related issues of the organisation.
- To lead, manage, and develop the human capital of the Environmental Unit.
- To develop, review, vet and negotiate agreements (including MoUs) relating to environmental and legislative matters as well as international instruments (e.g., in support of Conservation Services, Sale of Wildlife, Donation of Wildlife, Transportation of Wildlife, Expanded Public Works Projects, Environmental Monitors, Fundraising agreements in support of conservation projects)
- To conduct research, provide legal opinions and provide environmental and legislation guidance to the organisation.
- To manage litigation matters in compliance with and adherence to the Rules of the Court in respect of environmental issues.
- To resolve potential legal disputes and negotiate settlement terms.
- To advise on alternative dispute resolution.
- To provide legislative and regulatory services relating to conservation and the environment.
- To coordinate legislative comments relating to Environmental instruments within the organisation.
- To manage the land acquisition process for the organisation from drafting of Land Acquisitions agreement to transfer of land acquired into the name of the organisation.
- To attend to the declaration of land as part of a national park and/or establishment of new national parks.
- To ensure compliance with internal policies and processes in the land acquisition process.
- To provide support to internal policy development processes relating to Environmental, Conservation and Legislation.
- To build, enhance and maintain stakeholder relationships.
